Right-click on the worksheet and select 'Color-Tab' and then choose the color you want. All of 'Jan 2013's sheets can be green, Feb 2013 can be orange- easy to spot- easy to work on. Hide data for printouts When you print the worksheet, if youwant to hide some confidential information rows- columns: select them and hold down Control and click 'Hide'. You can then give the print command. After printing you can select the same rows-columns and choose 'Unhide'. Compress pictures Pictures embedded in Excel sheets increase the size of the document. Toemail it you can compress the pictures. Select the picture you want to compress, go to 'Picture Tools' and then to Format Tab under it. Choose 'Adjust' and then choose 'Compress pictures'. You can then select the level of compression and click OK. Move and Access the Quick Access Toolbar You can have the quick access bar displayed at the bottom of the window if you want. Instead of going to the top, you will be able to access it more easily. Go to 'Customize Quick Access Toolbar' dialogue and tick 'Show Quick AccessToolbar below the Ribbon'. You can then apply the customized tools to your current file and also all Excel files. Make templates Every organisation has a template as to how a status report, charts, grade tables should look like. Instead of formatting them every-time to comply with standard fonts, styles and layouts you can create a template. Take a report, save it as a template and edit the facts you don't need. You can save a lot of time. Change the order of cell editing Normally during editing, when you hit enter on a cell it takes you down to the next cell in the column. You might need to go to the next cell in the same row. Using tab is an option but you can also customize the editing order. You can go to Menu > Tools > Options > Edit and choose thedirection - right- by setting 'move selection after enter' to 'right'.
